Bye Bye Blogspot

Please update your bookmarks - my web address has moved:

I am now at

Just MamaDweeb.Com - Hooray!! I am so excited about the move!

If you want to grab my button with the new code so it goes to my new site, please do:

Another One Goes to Wordpress!

Changes are 'a comin'!

I have worked so hard on this blog and it is honestly my pride and joy. I have never been so dedicated to a hobby before - and accomplished so much!

I couldn't have done half of this without my amazing blogging friends!
Chari - for always being there with an encouraging comment to make me smile and love blogging
Beth - for helping me grow my blog in the beginning from 2 to 3 collumns, and for inspiring me
Kristen - for inspiring me to do my own design work and being a great friend
Christine - for inspiring me to keep my focus on God and my family - I love your blog!
Cat - for helping me make the transition - I could move to Wordpress without you, but I'd go crazy doing it!
Kas - for making my header and button, you have such talent my friend!
Trisha - providing a wonderful place were I met all my great friends
All my momdot gals - you rock. You keep me going on this blog and helped me grow!

So yes, I am no longer going to be at blogger, but my domain will be the same. The look will change a tiny bit but I hope it won't be such a dramatic change for you. There are a lot of wonderful things I am adding to my blog - a better menu for easier navigating and better ad placement for my amazing sponsors. This look and feel might change one more time in the spring if I find something that suits me even better but we'll see.

For now it will always be a fun blog, Mama Dweeb!

Why the switch?
I have had a few people say they can't comment. It is like 1 out of 10 people that have trouble. I tried everything I could to figure out how to fix that and couldn't. I am planning a huge diaper giveaway event in February and I need every single person to be able to comment.

Also, in blogger people are not required to leave their email address in the comments, and no matter how many times or ways I ask them to people still don't leave their email address and then they entered for nothing if I can't get ahold of them. Wordpress has a field for email address in the comments.

Plus, the more I grow the more I realize WordPress has a ton more customizing options. It has better SEO capabilities which is better for my sponsors. Let's be honest - I adore blogging but if I can make some money with it what is more Proverbs 31 than that?

So I will be unveiling the new look in the new year!

Happy New Year everyone!!

and don't forget to enter my current giveaways for $20 to shop at LoobaLee or Skin MD lotion!

Skin MD Review and Giveaway

I finally found a lotion that helps moisturize my husband cracked and bleeding hands!

I am amazed. Period.

Seriously! Skin MD is the only lotion that has worked and we have tried Vaseline, Aveeno, you name it - and we have tried all the extra strength varieties but they all left his hands greasy and they dried out 15-20 minutes after he put the lotion on.

With Skin MD his hands feel somewhat soft and not a bit greasy. I mean come on, how soft can a wood worker's hands be? But they haven't cracked or bled since we got this stuff in the mail. Josh uses it ritually now and it shields his hands, keeping them hydrated all day.

How does it work?
"Skin MD Natural breaks the dry skin cycle by working to help restore skin's natural protective abilities by bonding to the outer layer of skin, strengthening skins natural barrier against toxins
and irritants that can dry the skin, while locking in the skin's natural oils." ---www.skinmdnatural.com

Cloth Diaper Carnival V - Daddies and Diapers

Cloth Diaper Bloggers and Kim from Dirty Diaper Laundry is hosting her monthly blog carnival and this time the theme is Daddies and diapers. I already participated in Beth from Happily Domestic's Fluff Talk Thursdays with this same topic, so I am going to recycle my post again.

Josh wrote this and I totally appreciate him for it.

So without further ado, my amazing husband's take on cloth diapers:

My wife likes cloth diapering, therefore I like cloth diapering, the same goes for chocolate. Now you would think that I like 'Sleepless in Seattle' by this pattern of thinking, you would be wrong. I like Die Hard and Braveheart. However, I do like cloth diapering partly because my wife likes cloth diapering and partly because it is the best way to diaper.

Not only is cloth diapering wonderfully environmentally friendly, it is easy to do (as long as the wife does the prefolds and I get to use the fitteds - j/k) and it is cost effective. Although I did like to teasingly give my wife a hard time about being addicted to purchasing $30 diapers, I did understand that it will be used over and over and over. That just makes good sense. In fact, if a regular disposable costs $0.25, then a $30 diaper only has to be used 120 times before it has paid for itself and as a bonus has not done anything to hurt the environment. There is certainly a double win there. Already, with just two of the dozen or so children we plan on having most of the $30 diapers have made their money back, just think of having them on 3 or even 10 more children. That's almost like winning the lottery every day. Sometimes there really is even a prize.

There is also a fantastic community around cloth diapers. I know that if there ever comes a time that information is needed on some diaper fact, there are people ready and willing to answer whatever question might arise. If a person needs to buy or sell a diaper(s), there are fantastic people out there that are looking to trade. To date there has not been a single bad experience with exchanging diapers for diapers or diapers for money. Everyone in this community is respectful and looks out for one another which makes cloth diapering truly fantastic on those merits alone.

Blowouts. I have yet to have to change my kids clothes because the cloth diaper failed to hold it all in. I loathed having to change my kids' outfit after they had been wearing a disposable and had an up the back disaster. Bless you cloth diapers, bless you.

Christmas Aftermath

Hooray for Monday! Christmas was amazing - I have a ton of photos I am working on putting up of Christmas. I'll get those up later but for now....the house.

Oh I really want to ignore the house. I want to blog all day and let Lizzie and David play with their new toys. I am not looking forward to putting the house back together today.

After the goat was in my kitchen I had cleaned the house really well. Then we travelled for family Christmas and every time we came home I was too tired to clean. So there are layers to this mess.

One time I made a video of me cleaning and the kids playing - it made it fun for me. I have to make it a game of some sort to fool myself into thinking I am having fun. Well the first step is getting off the computer. So the next time you hear from me I will be blogging about my Christmas weekend in a clean and tidy home.

One Size Cloth Diapers ROCK!!

Chari is a wonderful blogging friend of mine - I did an entire post raving about her blog. Little did I know that she was cooking up a huge cloth diaper give away event!

I am a huge fan of one size cloth diapers. They fit David super well right now - he is 8.5 months old and 23 pounds. Yes he is chunky and I need diapers that fit well :)

I am definitely going to be checking out this event every single day because I could definitely use some new diapers! Plus, she is going to be highlighting some companies I have never heard of before and I am always looking to expand my stash!
